Barnett and another v O'Sullivan
Article Abstract:
An appeal was made in a UK court by a tenant arguing that she should not be forced to leave her rented room because her landlord was not in residence. The landlord had decided to move with the tenant to new premises, and was using both houses before making the final move. The court dismissed the appeal on the grounds that the move had been planned on the understanding that the new house would be the landlord's home, and that a division of the move into stages was artificial.

Pennell v Payne and another
Article Abstract:
A UK legal case involved a subtenancy set up by a tenant which was in breach of the tenancy agreement. The appeal involved the tenant of a farm who was not allowed to sublet without permission. The tenant sublet to a company which worked the farm. The landlord asked the tenant to quit and was concerned that he would be left with a subtenant be did not want. An appeal court decided that the landlord could not have the subtenant foisted on him, so was not damaged by this possibility.
