Beware of 'hidden' stamp duty charges
Article Abstract:
Commercial property developers need to be aware of the possible tax implications which could be incurred when purchasing land from a local authority or previous developer. Stamp duty could have a dramatic impact on overall development costs, therefore it is essentially to fully investigate charges before any paperwork is signed. Stamp duty charges can be avoided if land purchased has an existing development covenant.
