Current trends in the European real estate market
Article Abstract:
The excess supply of office space in Western Europe and the deficit in Eastern Europe is examined. The excess is found to have been caused by unplanned expansion, downsizing, outsourcing and a move towards shared desks and lower corporate space standards. The deficit is due to a lack of quality space, parking and telephone lines. Solutions for reducing costs of companies with surplus space include a more aggressive marketing campaign and consolidation.
