Exposure to diversification within the property market is limited to lending institutions via portfolios. Individuals generally invest in one property and corporate investments tend to be specific to their requirements. When the property market is volatile, fluctuations in property prices can adversely affect the economy, as was experienced in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
