Earls Court in session
Article Abstract:
The Morris Family Trust have purchased Earls Court and Olympia exhibition centres, London, England, for 183 million pounds sterling. The deal has been backed by Candover. Some 24.5 million pounds in profit was made from the centres in 1998. The company plan to spend 60 million pounds sterling on refurbishing the centres. Owner Andrew Morris suggests the exhibition business is still flourishing. Morris admits he has been approached by several developers interested in undertaking the refurbishment of the site or in some form of redevelopment of part of the site.

Several large housing associations in the United Kingdom have decided to invest in the private sector to make money to fund their social housing projects. These companies are changing their method of business so they do not have to wait for subsidies.
