Europe's 2000 facilities race: UK remains no. 1 with foreign investors

The number of foreign direct investment schemes in Europe rose by 5% in 2000 to 2,243. The UK accounted for 575, up by 13%, while France had 353 projects, Germany 170, Spain 148 and Ireland 113. Manufacturing was the largest single activity among foreign direct investment schemes.
