Feeling good, looking great
Article Abstract:
Agents for office space in Croydon, England, report an upturn in the market during the six months leading up to Jan 1997. There has been much interest in a new office development following a lively advertising campaign by the Deramore Property Group. Renovation of older office properties has also heightened interest in the area. Some observers predict that a shortage of quality properties may lead to rent increases. Other areas in the region are also experiencing an increasing market although new developments are constrained by strict local planning laws.

Industry shifts for workspace
Article Abstract:
There is a shortage of development land in Portsmouth, England, and Southampton, England, and this is prompting developers to look to Fareham, England, and Segensworth, England. There has been extensive activity at junctions 9 and 11 of the M3, where around 500,000 sq ft has been built or is under construction since 1997. A survey of industrial occupiers in the region indicates that they regard Fareham as a key location. Office occupiers are particularly attracted to the Solent corridor, as well as to Fareham.

Twice as nice
Article Abstract:
Two developments in Staines, England, are set to revitalize its shopping facilities. With a new retail park expected to open in 1998 and the restoration of the Elmsleigh shopping centre, Staines will be in a position to compete with neighbouring towns. Office space is also in demand as the area is now seen as a prime site for office relocation, but new office development is scarce. Nearby Chertsey has experienced an increase in office space allowing it to compete with its more renown neighbours.
