The concept of feng-shui is an important influence on the real estate investment decisions made by more than 1.5 billion Asians worldwide. Wind, water, light and topography are the elements that affect a building's desirability. Residential buildings are evaluated for proper direction, subsurface, water supply, architecture and site characteristics. The rules are complicated, but a basic understanding will aid the Western real estate professional.
