Galloping gazelles: unorthodox strategies fuel their mercurial expansion
Article Abstract:
The real estate management strategy of high-growth companies seem to be based on a simplified pre-emptive concept, which commonly saddles the companies with short-term unprofitable assets. The strategy is driven by the high-growth characteristics of the firms, which many asset managers interpret as something of a hedging command, forcing them to buy assets in anticipation for the next round of growth. In such a case, as much as 8% to 15% of the gazelle's assets are underperforming.
