Land values return to top form in strong market
Article Abstract:
The value of agricultural land in the UK has risen in 1994 and has returned to levels previous seen in 1989. The price is some 2,214 an acre and there has been a 29% rise since the middle of 1993. This is linked to low interest rates, a good harvest for 1994, and rising confidence among UK farmers. Arable land has attracted most interest and poor quality uplands grazing areas have risen least in price. No major change in land values is forecast for 1995.
