Congress warms to D.C. real estate group's message
Article Abstract:
National Realty Committee (NCR) Pres and CEO Jeffrey D. DeBoer believes that the most significant happening for the real estate industry in 1998 was the return of the equilibrium in supply and demand for commercial real estate markets. He says that the NRC's major achievement for the year was improving legislators' perceptions about the industry. He also cites positive policy developments such as the reduction in capital gains tax and FCC's rejection of proposals to regulate the wiring buildings.

New techniques include right-sizing, concentrating on core competencies, out-sourcing and partnering.
