Kudos under construction
Article Abstract:
Some major companies in the UK still wish to rent headquarters buildings in prestigious areas such a Mayfair and St James in London, England, but they want buildings with good design features which are not ostentatious. The occupation of a property in Berkeley Square by Concert the telecoms company may set new renting levels for the area. The rents are predicted to be 52 pounds sterling per sq ft. Local agents deny that deal would define the market level which they anticipate to be around 45 pounds sterling per sq ft. Some companies such as Glaxo are leaving the area due to the high rents.

Bridges to success
Article Abstract:
The regional headquarters of BT is relocating into a 69,250 sq ft building called Bridge Court in Newcastle, England, which has a rental value of 13.50 pounds sterling per sq ft. The lease on Bridge Court will last for 15 years and around 650 BT staff will move into the building. Bridge Court is being refitted with new technological equipment and the interior is being refurbished for a cost of several million pounds sterling. Some of the staff currently employed at Swan House will relocate to other BT buildings in the area because Bridge Court is too small to accomodate them.
