Making good practice work
Article Abstract:
Planning inquiries in the UK still frequently have to address issues which could have been resolved at the pre-inquiry stage. This situation will only improve if a way can be found of persuading all parties to cooperate, putting good practice before commercial and political aims. It is now time to bring the focus of the appeal process forward, ensuring that best use is made of the time between lodging the appeal and the hearing of it. In this way, shorter and more efficient inquiries will result.

Is a nod as good as a wink?
Article Abstract:
Anyone considering bidding at an auction should first ensure that they are fully aware of their legal position. The auctioneers' general conditions of sale form the basis of the contract between the vendor and the purchaser, and should therefore be studied carefully. The auctioneer has the right to refuse a bid without giving a reason, and to settle any disputed bids.

Good looks and in great shape
Article Abstract:
The London boroughs of Kingston and Richmond continue to attract commercial occupiers, some of which are from abroad. There is strong take-up of office space, with many occupiers welcoming the fact that staff do not have to travel into central London. The boroughs also benefit from being close to Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
