Office survey results
Article Abstract:
A survey of 125 occupiers of offices in and around London, England, examined a range of issues. The survey revealed that 70% of Central London occupiers believe traffic congestion in Central London worsened during 1996, but 72% would not consider moving their offices outside the area. Slightly over a quarter of respondents were considering taking more office space during 1997, and nearly 75% of this group would expand within the same building or postal district. Most occupiers felt it was important to have up-to-date technology, and 27% had some sort of homeworking arrangement.

Space oddities
Article Abstract:
A study into the effect of new business trends on property requirements has found that landlords were still reluctant to grant shorter leases. Some 67% of those questioned found that downsizing has reduced their property needs, whilst 70% reported the introduction of working in teams had necessitated a change in office layout. If the property market is unwilling to become more flexible to suit business needs it may impact the UK economy and cause foreign companies to choose to locate outside the UK. The study was carried out by the University of Reading.
