Parks turn green
Article Abstract:
The Stockley Park Consortium representative Andrew Vander Meersch has drawn up a plan to introduce an environmentally friendly transport scheme to Stockley Park, which is in line with UK government policies. The Stockley Park business area is used mainly by car users who will be encouraged to share car journeys and financial rewards will be awarded to workers who stop using their cars for work. To carry out these plans Vander Meersch recognizes that a public transport network will need to be fully developed. He also hopes to increase the milage allowance for employees who cycle to work.

Dash for the centre
Article Abstract:
The UK government is to introduce sequential testing for building development planning in 1998, which will affect both residential and commercial sites. Sequential planning prioritizes a development plan involving a request to build on a greenfield site or out-of-town site. The introduction of sequential testing is expected to affect retail and leisure developments, for which out-of-town areas are preferred. Sites are assessed for accessibility, flexibility and objective.
