Pillar of strength
Article Abstract:
Rank Group Chief Executive Andrew Teare has seen the value of the company's shares reduced by 50% since taking up his new role in Apr 1996. Teare has a five year plan to rejuvenate the company and intends to reduce its ownership of property. He has plans to introduce some new types of leisure facilities such as a leisure park. Teare has been heavily criticised by industry observers but he feels that their expectations were too high. He has overseen investment in the current business of 1 billion pounds sterling and has initiated 1.2 billion pounds sterling worth of disposals.
