Article Abstract:
The site at 88 Wood Street, London, England, underwent a complete redesign in 1995, in order to make a space of 250,000 sq ft. The site was owned by Daiwa Corp who employed the Richard Rogers Partnership to carry out the design work. The new building is on three levels, with 18 storeys at the back, 14 in the middle and 10 storeys in the front. The cost to shell and core the building was 150 pounds sterling per sq ft. The building will be rented out by Daiwa which no longer needs the site after its new links with Sumitomo. Rents are expected to be over 50 pounds sterling per sq ft.

Avery Associates took an innovative approach to the redesign of a 1960s office building owned by Chesterfield Properties in Victoria, London, England. The project, which cost 16.25 million pounds sterling, has produced a very modern-looking building with overall rent of around 3.25 million pounds sterling. It was necessary to take a holistic and creative approach to reorganizing the standard office floors. The refurbishment boosted lettable floor area by around 10% to around 9,290 sq mt of office space.
