Residents fight back
Article Abstract:
Westminster council in London, England, has agreed at a county court hearing to hand over documents which local residents believe will help them substantiate their claim that they are the victims of illegal overcharging for services. Residents report that service charges have risen dramatically, and some have responded by withholding part of their payment. The key issue is whether the council is entitled to recover part of its central overhead costs under the terms of the leases.

Drinking games
Article Abstract:
The UK government's decision to review public entertainment and liquor licensing is likely to have repercussions for the property market. The pub and nightclub industry has reacted negatively to the recommendation by the Better Regulation Taskforce that liquor licences become the responsibility of local authorities. This proposal has also been rejected by the Magistrates Association. The government is also to consider whether opening hours should be extended.
