Double bill for shoppers
Article Abstract:
The retail trade in towns surrounding Manchester, England, may be affected by the completion of the Trafford Centre which is situated on the outskirts of city centre. Development projects for the retail industry in the towns outside of Manchester have continued, with many investing in large shopping outlets. In Bury a new shopping centre has been fully let whilst in Wigan a new leisure and retail centre is being developed for 60 million pounds sterling. Some observers feel that Trafford Park's success may be hindered due to high rents and transportation difficulties.
