Ready, steady, go
Article Abstract:
The success of Halifax, England, and Huddersfield, England, has been attributed to the continuing popularity of Leeds and the M62 motorway. Some observers feel that the local authorities in Huddersfield and Halifax should release more land for development to encourage greater growth. Huddersfield is experiencing good demand for buildings and land but is hampered by a lack of space. The retail sector in Halifax is growing with a large shopping centre planned for the centre of town. Leisure development is also buoyant, with a new football stadium and entertainment centre planned for the town.
