Real estate strategy best practices: Eastman Kodak

The corporate real estate organization (CREO) of Eastman Kodak Co earned the Best Practices Award in Real Estate Strategy from the International Development Research Council. Led by vice president for corporate real estate H. Bruce Russell, Eastman's CREO devised new systems and strategies of assessing the value of the company's real estate assets in terms of their strategic values and managing these properties to extract their maximum values, either by selling them or reducing their costs to the company.

Chicago roars into no. 1 spot for new/expanded facilities
Article Abstract:
Chicago, IL, sailed past its competitors in having the highest number of new facilities and expansions among US metro areas in 1995. The city had 265 new/expanded facilities, a large increase from 1994's 79 facilities. It outdistanced Phoenix-Mesa, AZ, which had 209, and Dallas, TX, which had 202. It also topped the ranking in new manufacturing plants in 1995 with 101 manufacturing projects, tripling its count from 1994's 33.
