Technology helps beat office crime
Article Abstract:
It has been suggested that some UK office building occupiers place to much reliance on building security whilst neglecting to secure their own offices and equipment. To prevent the increasing instance of the theft of computer chips some companies have developed their own indelible marking system. Companies such as Securicor are providing a data back-up service for firms who fear the loss of data due to causes such as flood and fire. BT have saved around 5 million pounds sterling following a program of reorganisation for their security systems.

Article Abstract:
The Royal London Insurance company is planning to reorganize the location of its offices in order to cope with the changing financial services market. They plan to vacate 167 small office buildings, mainly on high street sites, and move to 62 larger sites, of around 2,000 sq ft, located on the outskirts of the major towns and cities in the UK. Many of the company's employees work from their own homes but need easy access and parking facilities at the offices, which they visit frequently.
