The UK government's PPG 6 is mainly aimed at returning property development work to town centres. This change of emphasis will have a significant impact on the public sector, with local authorities being encouraged to link with the private sector and other agencies to establish a set of strategies for five key areas. The first of these is town centre strategies, which covers issues such as leisure and employment, as well as retailing.

The impact of Section 7704 on UPREITs: issues for operating partnerships with more than 100 partners
Article Abstract:
Real estate investment trusts with more than 100 partners, also known as umbrella partnerships, increasingly use an operating partner structure. The Publicly Traded Partnership (PTP) rules for such trusts largely apply to limited partners. The larger the operating partnership, the more carefully the agreement must be amended to comply with PTP rules.
