The Alberta advantage
Article Abstract:
Canada's Alberta province has moved away from its natural resources base to manufacturing, and is poised to launch itself into North America's high technology powerhouse. Alberta's advantage in corporate relocation is its pool of highly skilled workers, whose skills are in heavy demand in the electronics, information and manufacturing sector. Another of Alberta's advantage is its well developed energy and transportation infrastructure, as well as its network of information among public and private institutions which provide a ready pool of information resource for corporate research and development efforts.
