Article Abstract:
Property lessors Greycoat PLC's directors achieved a management buyout of the company in May 1999 with a 260-pence share offer. Investment fund Mercury Asset Management backed the 282-million-pounds-sterling buyout with an investment of 100 million pounds sterling. The company had been having problems since the property crash of the early 1990s and a number of outside parties had shown an interest in its management, notably James Ritblat's Delancey Estates which acquired shares with a 242-pence share offer.
