Town-centre winners and losers
Article Abstract:
Multiple retailer businesses have a strong presence in Britain, according to the latest 1995 edition to Estates Gazettes town centre retail business survey. Thirty out-of-town retail parks have been developed since 1984, but have not had a great influence over the evolution of town centre retail facilities. Most town-centres which have an out-of-town mall, however, have lost some retail trade. The survey found that over 60% of town centres have been upgraded since 1984.

The future of the town centre
Article Abstract:
Changing social habits can have a major effect on retailing. A new area of growth in the UK retailing market is leisure shopping, which is shopping for pleasure and often includes a visit to some sort of eating establishment. Local authorities should welcome catering companies into their town centres as these will be very important in revitalizing town centre shopping. It is predicted the amount of money spent on routine shopping will decline.

Volatility is the price for liquidity
Article Abstract:
Office property in central London, England, is attractive to buyers, but is actually rather risky. Central London offices are liquid, so vendors can sell easily. However, the offices are also highly volatile and produce low yields. In 1994, roughly 70% of office acquisitions in central London were made by foreigners, according to DTZ.
