Weston City debut starts to pay

There has been considerable interest in a scheme covering 14 one- and two-bedroom flats being undertaken by housebuilder Weston Homes in the City of London. This is the company's first scheme in this area. It also plans a further development of 29 one- and two-bedroom units on a 1,150 sq mt site near Royal Mint Street. It has undertaken a number of east London schemes, and no plans to build around 180 homes a year.

Thames Water property whets Berkeley's appetite
Article Abstract:
Berkeley Manhattan, a joint venture made up of Manhattan Loft Co and Berkeley Homes, has received permission to go ahead with plans for a part new-build, part redevelopment of former Thames Water offices in north London. The project will create 124 apartments, of which around 40% will be one-bedroom. Permission has also been received for a restaurant, but Berkeley may not go ahead with this part of the scheme.

Housebuilders join forces to launch new community
Article Abstract:
Taywood, Admiral, Wimpey and Bryant have formed a consortium to build Fairford Leys, a new village community near Aylesbury, England. Each concern will be responsible for building 500 homes over the next 10 years. These will include apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses. John Simpson and Partners will be responsible for external design, but the developers will use their normal styles inside.
