48 hours in Helsinki
Article Abstract:
It is particularly worth visiting Helsinki, Finland, in summer, when local people take full advantage of the long hours of daylight. The city has an attractive mixture of European, Scandinavian and Russian architecture, and visitors can easily walk between the main sights. Attractions include the food stalls around the covered market, the Kiasma contemporary arts museum, Stockmann's department store and the Cygnaeus Gallery, where there is a magnificent collection of 19th- and 20th-century Finnish paintings and sculpture.
