Can HRT stop the clock at the menopause?
Article Abstract:
There are still very mixed views about hormone replacement therapy. Some observers believe it plays a key role in protecting women against heart disease and osteoporosis and that it allows them to deal more easily with the symptoms of the menopause. However, others feel that it has unpleasant side-effects and point out that it has been linked with a slight increase in breast cancer. Some women prefer to use more natural ways of dealing with the menopause, such as evening primrose oil.

A touch of softness behind bars
Article Abstract:
Allowing pets into British prisons has been found to have a very beneficial effect on prisoners. Many prisoners find it very hard to show their emotions, but often mellow greatly when allowed to car for animals. It is clear that the presence of pets in prisons can reduce levels of violence, cut drug-taking and even lead to lower levels of re-offending. Efforts are now being made to extend the role of pets and farms in prisons.
