A great mind over matter
Article Abstract:
The philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein is particularly unusual in that he has inspired so many works of art, mainly novels, in others after his death in 1951. During his lifetime he published only one book but since his death his unpublished works have at last been printed, beginning with Philosophical Investigations in 1953. Wittgenstein believed philosophy should be written as poetry and this is one major factor in his attractiveness for other artists.

Angels in America: the play that gave the stage a new direction
Article Abstract:
Tony Kushner's 1991-1993 play 'Angles in America' deals with many highly significant topics, including Aids, religious intolerance and fundamentalism. However, it also manages to be a cosmic soap opera, linking moral seriousness and baroque sensibility. It highlights the extent to which received wisdom about gay drama and the mainstream has changed in the period 1986-1996.
