Article Abstract:
The French-Canadian circus troupe Cirque du Soleil has become famous for its extremely well presented shows, which use no animals or freaks. Its members, some of whom are leased for six-month periods from the Chang Chun Acrobatic Troupe in China, are all very talented performers, pushing their bodies to their limits and showing no fear. The shows are modern in appearance, but in fact draw on long-standing circus traditions.
