A very British futon
Article Abstract:
A futon can offer a viable alternative to a single or double bed. A good futon supports the body well, and can aid in reducing problems with backache. However, the Sleep Council advises that it is important to make a good choice. A futon must be tried out for some time before a decision is made about whether to buy it, and care must be taken to have correct spine alignment. Futons sold in the UK are five or six layers deep and are packed with a mixture of cotton, foam and wool. In contrast, those sold in Japan are hand-stitched and made of two or three layers of soft, recycled cotton.
