All garret and no stick
Article Abstract:
Many young artists find it a great struggle to continue working once they have left the security of art school. Most galleries will allocate some space to the most promising graduates, but this will not provide them with the necessary financial basis to continue working. However, there are now a few people around who are providing opportunities for young artists, offering them free studio space and sometimes accommodation too. These patrons tend to be quite broad-minded, accepting even artists whose work they do not particularly like.
