All in the best possible taste?
Article Abstract:
The Queen's Gallery is currently holding an exhibition of the around 500 Carl Faberge objects in the Royal Collection. These objects are certainly technically brilliant, but they give rise to serious questions about the taste of members of the Royal family and about the family's position with respect to partonage of the arts. The family no longer make the heroic gestures of taste in the national interest which were common in previous centuries, having clearly been affected with the sense of practicality which is so common among ordinary citizens.
