America's Net lessons for business
Article Abstract:
Developments in the US give a valuable insight into how the Internet is likely to affect the business landscape. Areas of particular activity at present include on-line music sales, the patient/doctor relationship and the creation of high-speed connections to the Internet. The key issue is the extent to which the early use of the Internet by US consumers gives US manufacturers a comparative advantage. Internet-related developments are gradually becoming dominated by large companies, and the fact that the Internet remains dominated by US consumers gives large US companies an advantage.

It may also be worth considering exploiting the fact that the Internet allows companies to gain a very detailed insight into customers' views.
