Nato planes fire at Serb police force
Article Abstract:
Nato is seeking to put an end to Serb repression and ethnic cleansing in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, by targeting Serbian military positions across the province. There have been extensive attacks on Serb armour and heavy artillery inside Kosovo, with greater use being made of A-10 'Warthog' tankbuster ground attack planes. Lieutenant-General Spasoje Smiljanic, commander of the Yugoslav air force and air defence system, has claimed that Nato has begun bombing infrastructure and civilian targets.
