Sir thought he was witty
Article Abstract:
Children can be extremely critical of teachers, but their comments are often very perceptive and sophisticated. They do not necessarily like best the teachers for whom they do not have to do much work, tending to highlight those from whom they feel that they are really learning something. In general, children favour teachers who are good at explaining and are willing to help them to understand. The best teachers are also firm, with children respecting those who are able to keep order in the classroom.

Word blind
Article Abstract:
There has been considerable progress in the UK over recent generations in the scientific understanding of dyslexia. However, there is still a considerable lack of practical help for adults and children who suffer from dyslexia. Many teachers do not feel properly able to detect or deal with dyslexia, even though there is an average of one dyslexic child in every class. Most dyslexics have problems with short-term memory, writing, reading and spelling, but not all will show the same symptoms.
