Do not cower from science
Article Abstract:
The reaction from the general public to the recent news that biologists have been able to clone sheep has been largely negative. Many people have expressed fears that scientists are becoming too powerful and feel that limits should be set to such research. However, this attitude overlooks the fact that there are already significant scientific limits to cloning. The cloning of humans remains illegal, and will probably never replace traditional sexual reproduction.

Science is selling us out
Article Abstract:
Science has traditionally been regarded as working towards innovation and the improvement of humanity, with scientists acting in the disinterest pursuit of knowledge. However, the idea that science can be pursued for its own sake is becoming less widely accepted. Many top scientists are now working for commercial organisations, and science is no longer a social enterprise. This may in the long term have a negative impact on scientific inquiry.
