Article Abstract:
Architect Richard Rogers is returning to residential work with Battersea Thames Rise, a block of luxury flats which is due to be constructed in Battersea, London, England, from Jul 1997. This will have 101 flats, and will be the largest residential building ever undertaken by the Richard Rogers Partnership. It will rise diagonally across the site, which is on the banks of the Thames, and will be made up of five connected blocks rising in steps from four storeys to 20 storeys. Art, science and Self abuse
Article Abstract:
Journalist Will Self believes that there are very strong links between literature and science. He claims that literature unites with scientific theory in driving scientific thought, and points out that there are many talented scientific writers. His views contrast very strongly with those of Lewis Wolpert, professor of biology and author of a number of science books. Wolpert believes that science is a totally distinct discipline which does not cross-fertilize with literature.
