Asylum-seeker cleared of rioting faces deportation
Article Abstract:
Stanley Nwadike, one of nine West African asylum seekers cleared of charges of rioting and violent disorder at the Campsfield immigration camp in 1997, now faces deportation to Ogoniland, Nigeria, where he is regarded as a political dissident. Solicitors for Nwadike and five others due to be deported believe that the court proceedings have placed them at greater risk of persecution if they are returned to their own countries. However, the Home Office has not accepted that Nwadike is at risk of persecution.

The Shirley Valentine devastated by Aids takes revenge on her fisherman lover
Article Abstract:
Janette Pink is currently taking legal action against Pavlos Georgiou, whom she met in 1993 when she purchased an apartment in Paralimni, Cyprus. She claims that he knowingly infected her with the Aids virus, and the main purpose of taking legal action is to ensure that he does not infect any other women. His wife has already died from Aids, and Pink herself has now become seriously ill. Georgiou claims that she is being motivated solely by the desire to take revenge against him.
