Berating politicians will not bring public money back to the arts

Article Abstract:

Those involved in arts in the UK must realize that in order to obtain increased public funding for the arts they must first attract the general public to participate more extensively in the arts. Attacking the government, which is still popular with ordinary people, is not the best way to do this. It is important to acknowledge that those who attend cultural events do not necessarily feel that taxpayers should be making a larger contribution towards these activities. Furthermore, questions should be asked about whether certain arts organizations are really suitable for the 21st century.
