Article Abstract:
The UK's tax and national insurance system works in favour of companies with more than 1,000 employees, according to a report from the Centre for Fiscal Studies at the University of Bath, England. In contrast, business start-ups with between one and four employees pay more than 270 pounds sterling per person in meeting bureaucratic requirements. Furthermore, small companies often pay far too much to accountancy firms for straightforward accounting work which could be undertaken less expensively by in-house staff.
