How fake guns and painting the roads fooled Nato
Article Abstract:
Evidence is now emerging that Nato actually caused little real damage to Serbian military equipment in Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Many barracks were completely destroyed by cruise missiles, but it appears that they were empty when they were struck. A number of aircraft belonging to the Yugoslav air force were destroyed, but several MiG-29s were moved around to ensure that they were not detected by Nato. Yugoslav army technicians used a number of tactics to confuse the targeting elements in Nato missiles.

Perfect ambush on the road to Paradise
Article Abstract:
A recent bomb attack in a remote rural area of Algeria on a convoy of 16 policemen and a journalist was the work of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA). Nobody was injured in the attack, but it was carried out very professionally. The attackers were able to use scanners to listen to police radio messages, and this allowed them to detonate the bombs at precisely the right moment. The local people are probably aware who the culprits were, but are unwilling to give information to the police.
