It is becoming increasingly common in the UK for young people leaving formal education to carefully consider whether they wish to take on the financial burden of university study. Some feel that they do not wish to make excessive financial demands on their parents, and are carefully choosing university courses in towns where accommodation and other expenses are not too high. Others are considering working for a year to earn money to fund their university education.
