Britain's youth: armed and dangerous
Article Abstract:
Violence and the fear of violence have become extremely common among young men in the UK, even in relatively small towns. Young men are more at risk of violent attack than any other group in society, and a considerable number now carry weapons to defend themselves. There are a number of ways in which this problem could be tackled. An improvement could be achieved by focusing on economic regeneration and on providing activities for young men. However, further measures will be required if progress is to be made towards eliminating casual violence as a way of life for young men.

Never mind the bulldogs - let's talk about real life
Article Abstract:
Britons seem to have very little interest in public affairs. Many people are unable to follow a detailed political debate, and they are unwilling to become involved in discussions about important scientific or technological issues. This is possibly because politicians tend to assume that ordinary people do not want to or cannot understand wider issues. This contrasts strongly with the situation in France, for example, where current affairs dominate primetime television programming.

How to be a real man without the spewing
Article Abstract:
There are many young men in the UK whose childish and unacceptable behaviour serves to make them unattractive to women who are seeking a partner. This seems to indicate that it would be worth preparing boys to become good husbands and fathers. This is already happening in the US, where teenagers are mentored by older men. It is also important to realise that even young men who appear arrogant and boorish have good qualities too.
