Building towards the year 2000
Article Abstract:
Many different architectural projects have been developed in the UK to mark the arrival of the 21st century. Some of them, such as the 550 village halls part-financed by the Millennium Commission, are very small, while others are on a much larger scale. These include the 43.7 million pounds sterling National Botanic Gardens of Wales at Middleton Hall, Llanarthne, Wales, and Our Dynamic Earth, which opened in Edinburgh, Scotland, in Jul 1999 with 15 million pounds sterling of National Lottery funding.
