The German mobile phone market is beginning to expand, and economics minister Werner Mueller forecasts that the number of users could rise to 50 million by the beginning of 2001 if current growth continues. The market is likely to be boosted further if the flotation of T-Mobile International goes ahead in the second quarter of 2001.
