UK: HYDER POSTPONES OUTSOURCE DEAL
Article Abstract:
Hyder has announced it will postpone a plan to outsource the running of its water assets to United Utilities until a challenge to the arrangement has been resolved in court. Severn Trent, the second largest water company in the UK, is arguing that the Hyder-United deal violates European procurement law as it was not put out to competitive tender. A high court hearing has been scheduled for 21 September 2000.
