The devil and the deep blue sea
Article Abstract:
The BBC Screen Two film 'Deadly Voyage,' which is to be shown shortly, tells the true story of Kingsley Ofosu, one of nine Ghanaians who stowed away on a Russian-crewed cargo ship in 1992. He was the only survivor, with the others being murdered by the crew members, who were afraid of the consequences of being discovered with stowaways on board. The film, which was shot partly in Ghana, has great power, particularly as it tells a true story.

Bombazine doyen takes a break
Article Abstract:
It is possible that television audiences in the UK will start to lose interest in adaptations of classic works such as those by Jane Austen, according to screenwriter Andrew Davies. He has written television versions of many classic works, but is also careful to do some original writing too. He feels that original writing is important, as it reminds producers that his talent do not only lie in adapting works written by others.
