Can you smell anything? I wish I could

Article Abstract:

Mr Ellis Douek, a consultant otologist at Guy's Hospital, London has patients with nasal allergies, obstructions in the nasal passages and more rarely with post-viral olfactory loss. The latter destroys sensory tissue, leaving scar tissue, which cannot be helped by surgery. Inflammation or obstruction of the nasal passages can be treated with steroids, antibiotics and surgery involving functional endoscopic sinus surgery (Fess). Scratch-and-sniff tests establish the degree of olfactory loss. A CT scan produces a precise map of the nose and sinuses, which vary between individuals, and the surgeon can then remove the obstructive tissue.

Happiness is a steak and kidney pie

Article Abstract:

There are now around 30 shops specialising in British food in Germany. There are two in Frankfurt, which has the largest British community in Germany. Such shops naturally attract Britons living in Germany, but they also sell to Germans, even though British food has a poor reputation. They stock a wide range of items, not just foods which are traditionally associated with the Uk, such as whisky and marmalade.
